Ryan McVety is the Founding and Lead Pastor of The River, home to Canada’s largest worship gatherings with over 3,000 in weekly attendance. His sermons and messages have reached millions across the globe via YouTube and other social media platforms.

Before dedicating the past 12 years to full-time ministry, Ryan earned degrees in Political Science, Theology, and a Juris Doctor in Law. However, he soon after felt called to preach and teach the Gospel full-time. He leads The River alongside his wife, Lindsay McVety, and cherishes his role as a father to their young son, Maverick.

Ryan currently serves as Vice-President and Professor at Canada Christian College and School of Graduate Theological Studies, focusing on Christian Worldview, Law, Philosophy, Public Speaking, and Practical Ministry.

With a passion for dynamic and practical teaching, Ryan considers it a profound honor to preach and teach the Bible across Canada and around the world. Whether speaking at national conferences, local churches, or lecturing at universities, he is humbled by every invitation. However, due to local ministry commitments, his availability for travel is limited.

Ryan has an extreme passion for sports, including soccer, golf, basketball, hockey, skiing and football. Travel is a hobby and Ryan has visited over 50 nations around the world. Motorsports with 2 or 4 wheels is another favorite pastime.
